Dabangg 2 'Pandeyjee Seeti' runs in controversy

MUMBAI: After garnering immense popularity for its sequel, the popular song from Dabangg 2 ‘Pandeyjee Seeti’ has been embroiled in a copyright infringement case just a day before its release (21 December). Apparently, a part of the song has been inspired from 1966 film Teesri Kasam’s track ‘Chalat Musafir’ composed by Shankar Jaikishen. Yesteryear lyricist and filmmaker Shailendra’s family has claimed that the music of ‘Pandeyjee Seeti’ has been copied from Shankar Jaikishen's creation without prior consent.

AIR Medium wave transmissions remain popular despite FM Channels

NEW DELHI: Despite the growing reach and popularity of FM Radio channels, the medium wave band transmissions of All India Radio are being received by 98.41 per cent of the population and 90.63 per cent of the area. The MW transmissions are being provided through 146 MW transmitters of various capacities, according to AIR sources. A survey by AIR in 2010-11 had also found that respondents in both rural and urban areas had rated the reception quality of AIR’s Primary channel and Vividh Bharati as satisfactory.
