Ofcom launches new round of community radio licensing
MUMBAI: Ofcom has opened the door to a fresh intake of applications for community radio licences. This comes in response to significant interest expressed by more than 270 individuals and community groups wanting to take to the air and provide services for their local community.

MUMBAI: Radio Audience Measurement in Kolkata showed the market sizes across 13 individual stations and a 14th category of �others' virtually frozen from the last week. There was no change in Market Shares in 12 of the 14, while one of the stations gained by the tiniest of 0.1% market share, and another lost to the same extent.

MUMBAI: The RAM reports for Week 8 of 2011 seem to have brought bad news for Radio Mirchi, which had been losing market shares in Mumbai over the past three weeks, and is now Mumbai's Number Two, behind the new leader Radio City (15.1%) by 0.4% market share with a total of 14.7%.
Radio City emerges as market leader in Mumbai
MUMBAI: According to the latest RAM reports of Week 8, Radio City 91.1 FM is at a clear No. 1 position in Mumbai with a market share of 15.1% in all SEC 12+ audiences. In the all-SEC A-B audience also, Radio City is at the No. 1 position with a market share of 17.5%. Radio City was no. 1 based on TARP last week.
Overall, the category has shown a dip by 1%, but Radio City has shown the highest growth in reach and TSL by 6% and 11% respectively, due to which it holds the No. 1 position in the market followed by Radio Mirchi and Big FM.
RAM Wk 7: Mirchi is Number 1 in all 4 metros; slipping in Mumbai
MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi is the Number One FM station across all the RAM-monitored metros including Bangalore where it is joint leader with BIG FM. However, Mirchi's share in Mumbai has now dropped to 14.8%, a loss of 1.7% market share over Week 6 / 2011, and the its lowest market share in the seven RAM-monitored weeks of 2011 so far, and ahead of the second-ranked Radio City by only 1.5% market share, a figure that could have shrunk further had City registered any gains in Mumbai in Week 7.

MUMBAI: Radio City is back to Number Two in Mumbai, after the last week showed it behind the new Number Two, BIG FM, by a whisker. Interestingly, the gap between market leader Radio Mirchi and the Numbers 2,3 and 4, is now much smaller. From a market share of 17% in Week 5, and 16% on an average across Weeks 1 to 4, Radio Mirchi per Week 6 is at a market share of 14.8%, with Radio City, Red FM and BIG FM close on its heels with 13.3%, 12.9% and 12.8% respectively. Of the top four in Mumbai this week, only Red FM registered an increase of 0.70% market share in Mumbai.

MUMBAI: In a week of otherwise smaller gains, Radio Mirchi pegged grew in all the 4 metros per Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 4 of 2011 (23 to 29 Jan 2011) across all people 12+ at all places of listening. . It led growth in Delhi with 1.2% market share, Mumbai with 0.9% and Kolkata with 0.5%, and was number 3 in the growth percentage after BIG FM (0.9%) and Fever (0.8%)in Bangalore.
