RAM Wk 4/11: Radio Mirchi grows in all 4 metros

MUMBAI: In a week of otherwise smaller gains, Radio Mirchi pegged grew in all the 4 metros per Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 4 of 2011 (23 to 29 Jan 2011) across all people 12+ at all places of listening. . It led growth in Delhi with 1.2% market share, Mumbai with 0.9% and Kolkata with 0.5%, and was number 3 in the growth percentage after BIG FM (0.9%) and Fever (0.8%)in Bangalore. In Delhi, while Mirchi grew by 1.2%, its closest rival Fever fell by 0.7% and BIG FM -- which announced strong financial results for the quarter ending Dec 2010 --  dropped by 1.4% of market share. Radio City and Red FM grew by 0.9 and 0.4% respectively in Delhi.

(1)   Mumbai: Radio Mirchi – 0.9; AIR FM1-Rainbow – 0.4; Vividh Bharati - 0.4; Big FM – 0.3

(2)   Delhi: Radio Mirchi - 1.2; Radio City – 0.9; Red FM – 0.4; Hit 95 FM - 0.2; AIR FM1-Rainbow – 0.2

(3)   Kolkata: Radio Mirchi – 0.5; AIR FM1-Rainbow - 0.4; Friends FM – 0.2

(4)   Bangalore: Big FM – 0.9; Fever FM – 0.8; Radio Mirchi - 0.4; Gyan Vani – 0.3

Drops in the 4 metros (at =/> 0.2% of own share):

(1)   Mumbai: Red FM – 0.7; AIR FM2-Gold – 0.7; Radio One – 0.6; Radio City – 0.2

(2)   Delhi: Big FM – 1.4;  Fever FM – 0.7; Radio One – 0.7

(3)   Kolkata: Oye! – 0.4; Aamar FM – 0.3; Red FM – 0.3; Radio One – 0.2
