Everyone in the radio industry kept waiting for things to happen in 2010! We kept waiting for Phase III to be announced. We waited for the economic down-turn to end. And we waited for the new music royalty rates to be issued. Some things happened. Some didn't!
RAM: WK 52/10: Yet another week of negligible share-shifts
MUMBAI: Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 52 (19-25 Dec /10) across all people 12+ at all places of listening reveals that it was yet another week of negligible shifts in market shares.
Gains and losses in the 4 metros (at =/> 0.2% of own share) were:
Gains (%):
(1) Mumbai: BIG FM - 0.4; Red FM - 0.3; AIR FM 1 Rainbow – 0.3; Radio One - 0.2; Oye! – 0.2
2) Delhi: AIR FM Vividh Bharati – 0.5; Hit FM – 0.4; Fever FM – 0.2
RAM WK 51/10: Red FM, BIG FM grow most in week of small shifts

RAM WK 50/10: AIR stations lose most in week of smaller shifts
MUMBAI: There was not much change in the market shares per Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 50 (5-11 Dec /10) across all people 12+ at all places of listening. In the relatively smaller shifts of shares, AIR stations gained and lost the most. Amongst the gains -- Akashvani in Mumbai (1.4%), Vividh Bharti in Delhi (1.3%), AIR FM Rainbow in Kolkata and AIR Vividh Bharti in Bangalore gained 0.7% each.

RAM Wk 49/10: AIR stations rally in Mumbai, Bangalore
MUMBAI: AIR stations, which had lost maximum share combined across Bangalore, Mumbai and Kolkata in the previous week, have bounced back in Mumbai and Bangalore per Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 49 (28 Nov-4 Dec /10) across all people 12+ at all places of listening. In Mumbai, AIR FM Gold and FM1 Rainbow gained 2.4% and 1.3% share respectively, while in Bangalore, AIR FM Rainbow and Vividh Bharti gained 1.8% and 1.5% share respectively.

RAM Wk 48/10: AIR suffers in 3 metros; Mirchi, Radio One gain most overall
MUMBAI: Per Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 48 (20-27 Nov/10) across all people 12+ at all places of listening, AIR stations have lost the maximum share combined across Bangalore, Mumbai and Kolkata. Radio Mirchi and Radio One were the main gainers in that order. In Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi, Radio Mirchi retained its stranglehold on the Number One Position, while Big FM continued on top in Bangalore.
