MUMBAI: The music festival Sunburn has been continuously expanding with new ventures and concepts. This time it is venturing into the digital radio space through the 'Sunburn On Air' radio show, allowing electronic music lovers to enjoy classic tracks and interviews of international DJs and new artistes.

The show will be aired every Friday starting from 11 April at 5pm. Speaking to Radioandmusic.com, Sunburn Global CEO Karan Singh said, “All the radio show episodes will be available for fans to check later on our website. The radio show will feature a special guest mix from renowned international DJs, classic tracks and interviews. In the future we plan to grow it to include other shows as well and make it a full-fledged channel."

Sunburn On Air will be hosted by 2013-14's Best House DJ and DJ of the year (at the MyFav Awards) Anish Sood, who is also an integral part of Sunburn's season seven. There are about nine people working towards making this show happen. It includes a creative, marketing and social media team, a host, an engineer, and two people for operations.

Singh further added, “There is a flood of new dance music being released every day. 'Sunburn On Air' will be an ultimate online destination for electronic music lovers and bringing together music covering the whole spectrum of the scene. We had been planning for a while but finally got around to it now, since our major events for the season are done."

The radio show will be available on multiple platforms such as iTunes, Soundcloud, Mixcloud and Youtube, as well as streaming on the website to make it easier for fans to access the show.

According to Singh, every episode will have a guest mix from renowned international DJs, and will be a space for new music, new artistes and most importantly, help home grown Indian artistes showcase their music. Currently, there are no plans to monetise the platform.
