Lady Gaga to deliver keynote address at SXSW

MUMBAI: Lady Gaga will be doing more than just performing at the South by South West festival which will take place at Austin, Texas. The 'Applause' singer will also take on the role as keynote speaker at the event, which will be headed by John Norris from music channel Fuse. The session will be held at the Hilton Austin Downtown's Grand Ballroom at 11 am.

Gaga's keynote address will be open to the festival's music and platinum registrants. It will come the morning following her performance at SXSW on the Doritos #BoldStage at Stubbs. The performance, which will take place on 13 March, will reportedly benefit the 27 year old singer's Born This Way foundation.

The 'Judas' singer's involvement in the conference proves that the event can be used for popular artistes in their promotional cycle. Gaga is not the only musician to have the honour of delivering a keynote at the SXSW. Previously, artistes like Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen and Foo Fighters' frontman David Grohl have spoken at the event.

Meanwhile, Gaga is busy gearing up for her fourth world tour titled 'artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball', in support of her latest album 'ARTPOP'. The 58-date tour will commence on 4 May in Florida and will see her perform in North America, Oceania, Asia and Europe.
