Anu Malik returns to Bollywood music front with big projects

MUMBAI: After being out of bollywood music scene for a while, renowned music composer Anu Malik is back again with some big banner projects Malik has recently composed for the film ‘Ye Jo Mohabbat Hai’ produced by Ashim Samanta. The film’s music album comprises of tracks of various styles including romantic ballads, peppy numbers and poetries by Anand Bakshi. Nimbuzz becomes first Indian internet company to cross 100mn users

Universal releases Ashanthi's single as official anthem for De PaixYatra

MUMBAI: Universal Music India has released Sri Lankan Hip Hop and R&B artist Ashanthi’s new single ‘Let’s give peace a chance’ as the official song for the De PaixYatra initiative - a motorbike journey from India to England. The initiative organized to promote World Peace will flag off on 11 August in Mumbai. Spotify unveils new radio feature on android devices

MUMBAI: Strengthening its foothold in US market, music streaming service Spotify has further extended the availability of its new radio feature from iOS app on iPhone and iPad to the android devices. The new radio feature for android will allow users to create a station based on an artist, album or playlist, similar to Pandora. Users can also save any song they hear on radio stations for later listening through ‘Liked from Radio’ playlist feature.

Amazon announces licensing deal with major labels

MUMBAI: Stepping up on the competition with Apple Inc's iTunes, Amazon.com Inc has announced licensing agreements with various music publishers and distributors for its new scan-and-match digital music service. The new service will store the matching version of tracks found from the user’s computer on the cloud platform. The company has signed a deal with top companies like Sony Music Entertainment, EMI Music, Vivendi SA's Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group. The licenses will allow Amazon to create new versions of customers' digital music files.
