I was clear I would not sing for my debut movie: Karan Hariharan

MUMBAI: Padma Shri and two time National Award winner singer Hariharan's son Karan Hariharan is making his acting debut with Bollywood film 'Missing on a Weekend'. But, one would still have to wait to watch him sing or compose.

Karan is a talented young man who is not just an outstanding actor but also a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and a composer. However, at the moment acting is his priority thus, his upcoming movie will just see him as an actor. "I was clear about not singing for my debut movie. I want to be an actor who can sing and not a singer who can act. Thus, I chose not to sing because it gets very confusing for the audiences," said Karan who has been singing from a very young age.

"Music is a part of our lives, I couldn't have escaped it. So, I did classical singing as a kid and I also did theatre," said the actor.

Luckily for Karan, he never had to choose between the two. In spite of being from a musical background, his family was open to him getting into acting. "It's not just about acting, had I decided to get into martial arts they would have agreed," confessed he.

The budding actor seems to have chosen the right path as he already has a few movie offers in hand. "I have been approached by a few producers but, I am waiting for 'Missing on a Weekend' to release first. For, only post the film's release I would know which direction to head in."

After all, Karan has a lot of paths to select from but we wish him luck with his acting debut.
