MUMBAI: Indie pop Guitarist and hitmaker of Gal Sunn Zara, Aao Na- Hitesh Rikki Madan released ‘Dil Mera Kho Gaya’, a truly romantic track that will make your heart skip a beat. The multi-talented musician never fails to impress the audience with his remarkable voice.

For ‘Dil Mera Kho Gaya’, Hitesh has not only sung but also composed, arranged, performed and mixed. The song has been written by Manish Dhawan along with Hitesh Rikki Madan.

How was your experience working on the song?

I approached Vishesh to direct the video of this song and sent him a scratch of the same.

An earlier version of the song had an extensive arrangement with drums, guitars, keyboards, vocals which somehow Vishesh couldn’t connect with.

Whenever we do a collaboration together it needs to work for both of us so we decided to meet one evening to figure out if we can still collaborate on this.

That meeting, I started to play the song on my acoustic guitar and in the middle of the performance, I saw Vishesh very spontaneously take out his phone and shoot a video of the same.

Vishesh felt that the vibe this song had with just one acoustic guitar was so pure and beautiful, and was inspiring enough for him to imagine and direct a video that would do justice to this sound.He felt that I did not need any more instrumentation for this song.

As a music producer, it was tough for me to let go of the old arrangement. However, there was something very authentic in this new sound, the vocals stood out so much better, the emotion was true to the lyrics, it came across as a very personal expression, and that was exciting and convincing enough for both Vishesh and me to go this route.

A little more jamming, bouncing ideas, experimenting, some coffee and reviewing the same laid the foundation of what the final version was to be.

I am really happy that the song sounds very different from my previous releases.

I can’t thank Vishesh enough for getting me out of my comfort zone and spearheading a unique audio-visual identity for the song.

‘Dil Mera Kho Gaya’ is an easy listening, soft and romantic love song expressing all that one feels when one is falling in love.

Its simplicity makes it profound, bringing comfort and stillness in an otherwise noisy world.

To the listeners, I hope it leads to reminiscing of love or professing love.

This quintessential love song sits beautifully for your date nights too making it an apt release for the Valentine season.

What are your future projects?

Aao Naa, my last collaboration with my sons Ariv and Advay was received very well by the audiences. It also got us the Music Composer of the Year and Rock Best Artist award at the prestigious Clef Music Awards 2022.

In the past year or so I have witnessed their tremendous progress in music and I’m very excited to collaborate with them in the future as well.

It’s pure joy to make music with them.

I have a lot more songs that I look forward to releasing in the future.

It will all culminate into my debut album.

I wish to continue growing as an artist and be a better musician. I hope my music and songs connect with millions of people across the world and I can perform my original music at a venue like Wembley Stadium one day.
