James Hype and HARLEE release the official video for 'Afraid'

MUMBAI: UK DJ and producer James Hype and singer-songwriter HARLEE have released the official video for their recent chart smasher ‘Afraid’, out now via The Cross Records/ Island Records.
The official video follows the artists being made cover stars of Spotify’s ‘The Dance List’ playlist and gaining multiple plays at BBC Radio 1. A dancefloor hit with a powerful message, the video details an aftermath of a romance breakup, and is complete with spectacular scenes throughout.
Directed by hotly tipped director Alex Thompson (L Devine, Nation of Billons), it was also executive produced by Luke Biggins (Roddy Ricch, Lil Wayne, Sigala, Hardy Caprio, Stefflon Don, Skepta), as part of Yellow Fish Group. Taking place within a house party, the video story details Harlee’s lyrics about her fear of herself creating an unusual world of gripping visuals.
Written by James and HARLEE alongside Rob Harvey (Joel Corry ‘Lonely’ / ‘Head & Heart’) ‘Afraid’ is an emotion-tinged vocal record,  pairing HARLEE’s powerfully confident, sultry vocals with James Hype’s signature eruption of heavy, energising production to deliver serious crossover intent. It marks the Liverpool-born artist’s heavily anticipated first single release of the new decade and follows a consistent precession of official remixes for the likes of Meduza, Joel Corry, Bruno Mars and Anne-Marie.
One of the UK’s most successful artists, James Hype propelled onto the scene with platinum-selling, top ten debut single ‘More Than Friends’, racking up hundreds of millions of streams and later remixing tracks from Rita Ora, Clean Bandit and Mabel. His last major release, a collaboration with Craig David, ‘No Drama’, has amassed 59 million streams on Spotify alone.
Something of a 2020 breakout star, HARLEE is best known for co-writing as well as lending her stunning vocals to the Joel Corry smash ‘Lonely’, the fifth most played song on UK Radio this year and over 17 million YouTube hits.
With now the release of its official video, ‘Afraid’ is sure to become one of the most exciting dance records of this year.
