Saregama launches Neelesh Misra's album 'Rewind'

MUMBAI: Saregama India Ltd has launched Band Called Nine's debut album â€?Rewind' on Sunday, 5th June at Bluefrog. The album has created a new non-film genre with a story telling-meets-song concept, which consists of nine tracks with a  narration. Neelesh Misra is the creative director and lyricist, while Shilpa Rao is the lead vocalist and Amartya Rahut is the music composer of the band. The album was launched by Bollywood singer Vishal Dadlani and the event saw live performances by Shilpa Rao and Neelesh Misra.

Lady Gaga tops UK radio charts

MUMBAI: Grammy winner Lady Gaga's hit single �Bad Romance' was officially the most played single on UK radio last year. According to the annual airplay chart compiled by music licensing company PPL, the pop queen topped the charts with 'Bad Romance' at number one and her other single 'Alejandro' at number three while Alicia Keys's 'Empire State of Mind' took the runner-up spot. The previous year's chart was topped by Lily Allen, with her single The Fear.

France bans use of Facebook and Twitter words on radio

MUMBAI: The French regulators have banned the usage of the words 'Facebook' and 'Twitter' on radio and television programs. President Nicolas Sarkozy's colleagues have agreed to uphold a 1992 decree, which stipulates that commercial enterprises should not be promoted on news programs, states a report. The law allows broadcasting anchors to use the brand names, only if a news story is specifically about either of the two companies.

Allahabad HC issues notice on 'Ready' song

NEW DELHI: The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court today issued notice to the Central Government and the Central Board of Film Certification on a public interest litigation seeking stay on public exhibition of Salman Khan starrer movie 'Ready' which has already been released. A vacation division bench of Justices Devi Prasad Singh and SC Chaurasia of the Court asked the respondents to file a reply on the issue by 12 June.
