Cannes 2011: McCann picks up three Radio Lions entries for India

MUMBAI: Three radio entries have been shortlisted from India for the Cannes Lions 58th International Festival of Creativity. McCann Worldgroup bagged all the three Radio Lions short listings, two for Mirc Electronics' Onida and one for Radio Mirchi, out of the 78 radio entries submitted from India. Mirc Electronics title �Terminator' and �A few Good Men' has been nominated in the Home Appliances, Furnishings, Electronics and Audio Visual category and Radio Mirchi's �IRS Callers' in the Publications and Media category.

Rolling Stone Metal Awards 2011 winners

MUMBAI: Bhayanak Maut was awarded as the best band of the year and Noiseware's song �23' won the best song of the year at the second edition of Rolling Stone Metal Awards 2011 (India). Undying Inc band topped with three awards - 'Aggressive World Dynasty' as Best Album, 'Yuvraj Sengupta' for Best Drummer and 'Shashank Bhatnagar' as Best Vocalist. Rolling Stone popular choice award was won by Zygnema for best band and best song and Devoid's 'A God's of lie' was recognized as best album.

MUMBAI: To celebrate the success of Gaga's latest album �Born This Way' Universal Music India has unveiled the �The Lady Gaga Wall of Fame', exhibiting singer's photograph in her classic moments. The gallery was inaugurated by popular bollywood music directors Salim-Sulaiman who have officially remixed two tracks, Born This Way... and Judas... from the album. Brett Lee opens music school for slum kids in India

MUMBAI: Australian pacer Brett Lee has opened a music center to provide free music lessons to underprivileged children in Mumbai. The studio opened on the outskirts of a dumping ground, will offer free music lessons to the slum children aged between 7-15. Lee has planned to have at least 100 such centers across India.  The instruments and teachers for the music center have all been funded through Lee's â€?Mewsic Foundation', which has teamed up with some Indian non-government organizations and charities to set up the program.
