Allahabad HC issues notice on 'Ready' song

NEW DELHI: The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court today issued notice to the Central Government and the Central Board of Film Certification on a public interest litigation seeking stay on public exhibition of Salman Khan starrer movie 'Ready' which has already been released.

A vacation division bench of Justices Devi Prasad Singh and SC Chaurasia of the Court asked the respondents to file a reply on the issue by 12 June.

The PIL, moved jointly by Hindu Personal Law Board Chairman and local lawyer Ashok Pandey and its general secretary Vinod Shanker Mishra, had raised objection on the song �Character Dheela' and had also sought direction to cancel certification of the movie.

The petitioner submitted that the song having �raas leela' in its lyrics is being aired on television channels and is indecent and an attack on the Sanatan dharma.

Actor Salman Khan, director Anees Bazmi, the Central Board of Film Certification and the Secretary, Information and Broadcasting Ministry have been made respondents in the PIL.
