Karan Johar's connect with '6 Pack Band 2.0' is 'Isspecial'

MUMBAI: Bollywood director, producer, Karan Johar, who is known for making films on different subjects, has introduced an isspecial band, comprising of special kids. The multifaceted Unsuitable Boy has become the face of India’s first special band called 6 Pack Band 2.0.

On his association, Karan said, “It’s so wonderful to see these young, super talented kids come together to create something so epic. I’m excited to be a part of something I know will not only change you and me but also have the power to change the world. I can’t wait to see what these kids do next; they are here to conquer the world with their talent.”

Karan also spoke at the event of how he felt different from others as a child. KJO recalled his fears of going out and mingling with people. Besides, he also stressed on the importance of creating an atmosphere, where the special kids could freely breathe in.

Apart from his personal struggles that he has already revealed in his Memoir, An Unsuitable Boy, KJO also has a close connect with the mental health issue. The director had earlier done an intensive research on Autism for his film, My Name Is Khan starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Besides, his in depth support to the cause says it all.

The band comprises of six special teens whose musical skills will leave you spellbound. It has introduced their first single Jhakkad Pakkad Dance, which is now live on YouTube. Celebrating life, the song showcases how we all need to shed our ignorance and inhibitions and learn to accept everyone as they are and dance like no one’s watching. Shot all over the city, it shows the band having a blast as they perform without a care in the world. Penned by Kumaar, the video has been directed by ace choreographer Adil Shaikh.

Besides, Johar, Yash Raj Films and Brooke Bond Label have also collaborated with the band and the unique cause it caters to. The band has been conceived and produced by Ashish Patil, Head of Y-Films, the youth wing of Yash Raj Films and curated by Shameer Tandon.

The first edition of 6 Pack Band, which was launched in 2016 and had won millions of hearts globally to become India’s most awarded campaign ever. The band had special collaborations with Anushka Sharma, Hrithik Roshan, Sonu Nigam, Asha Bhosle etc.

With Karan Johar coming onboard, we hope the 2.0 version of the band is successful in changing mindsets about mental illness.
