Unique anthology on legendary Mohammed Rafi to release on his death anniversary

NEW DELHI: "World of Rafi / Rafi Ka Sansar – A Voyage into the Melodious World of Mohammad Rafi", a coffee table volume, will be released on 31 July in Delhi this year, to coincide with his 34th death anniversary.

The effort to bring out the book has been made by Vinod Viplav, who had earlier penned the legendary singer’s first biography titled ‘Meri Awaz Suno’.

The new book will be a compilation of selected articles, along with pictures, on the different aspects of Rafi’s life and songs. It will also tell of the different shades of his personalities and his fan followings. Articles on the late singer, will be written by renowned musicologists and Film Journalists/Writers including Music Promoter and Sakha Chairman Amarjit Singh Kohli, Senior journalist Pankaj Vohra, well known writer and film critic- Zia Us-Salaam, Senior Film analyst B B Nagpal, Rafi Foundation Founder Binu Nair, Musicologist Mr. R P Sinha.

There will also be articles by Choudhary Zia Imam who has penned biographies of Rafi and maestro Naushad, former Nav Bharat Times editor Vishnu Khare, film critique Jawari Mal Parakh, and a number of devoted Rafi Fans like P Narayan, G. B. Mathur, Sanjeev Kumar Dixit, Umesh Makheeja and many others

This book will contain a directory of Rafi Fans; Organisations, Memorial Clubs, Fan Clubs and groups along with their introduction, pictures, address and contact details. This book will be published by Sachi Prakashan, which published the first biography of Rafi.

The 400 plus page book will also include a number of colored and Black and white pictures of Rafi.
