Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington to perform in India

MUMBAI: Delhi is bound to have a rockin' good time when lead vocalist of the rock bands Linkin Park and Stone Temple Pilots- Chester Bennington, performs in the capital city on 16 February. The concert poses the perfect opportunity for Stone Temple Pilots to connect with fans in India.

Bennington said, "We have heard about the great Rock Music vibe in India and are all keyed up to connect with our Linkin Park and Stone Temple Pilots' fans and present the best rock music experience that will surely be a visual and acoustic treat for all."

The band is being brought to India by a subdivision under Integrated Network Solutions, LIVE Viacom18. Stone Temple Pilots will headline the rock festival MTV Xtreme, which is an amalgamation of rock music and extreme sports.

Viacom18 SVP and INS business head Jaideep Singh said, "With this property, we are widening our horizon and expanding into the sports arena thereby combining two most engaging and high voltage genres of music and sports. We hope to provide a unified thrilling experience by exposing the audience to the most trending, international extreme sports along with rock music on one platform."

Bennington has been ranked in the Top 100 Heavy Metal vocalists. Stone Temple Pilots currently consists of brothers Robert (bass, backing vocals) and Dean DeLeo (guitar), Eric Kretz (drums, percussion) and Chester Bennington (lead vocals). After the dismissal of lead vocalist Scott Weiland in 2013, Bennington joined the band.

Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington will be playing at the 2014 Emirate Airline Dubai Jazz Festival on 13 February.
