Eric Clapton to release Crossroads Guitar Festival 2013 on video and audio

MUMBAI: Guitar legend, Eric Clapton is set to release an audio and video collection of his Crossroads Guitar Festival 2013 on 19 November through Rhino Records. In April this year, the ‘Tears in Heaven’ singer brought the festival, which is held once every three years, to New York City. For the first time since it started in 2004, the event took place indoors at Madison Square Garden.

During the two night event Clapton teamed up with several other guitar virtuosos including Blake Mills, the Allman Brothers, John Mayer, Keith Richards, Gary Clark Jr., Doyle Bramhall II, Keith Urban and many others. The video releases will include tracks like ‘Key To The Highway’, ‘The Needle and the Damage Done’, ‘Lay Down Sally’ and ‘Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad’ among many others.

Highlights from the shows will be released on two Blu Ray discs, two DVDs and also on audio CDs. Both Blu Ray and DVD editions include 45 tracks (approximately 5 hours of music). They will also feature behind the scenes footage of the concerts and conversations with artists. The 2 CD set will include around 32 tracks and will also be available digitally on the same day as the CD release.

The Crossroads Guitar Festival has become one of the most prominent guitar concert events and features some of the most celebrated guitarists in the world. Clapton initiated the event in 2004 to help raise funds for Antigua’s Crossroad Centre, an education and treatment facility that the singer founded in 1998, to aid people suffering from chemical dependency.
