Govt announces International award in memory of Tagore

NEW DELHI: The Indian Government has instituted an international award in the memory of poet and novelist Rabindranath Tagore for promoting the values of universal brotherhood. The prize money of the award is Rs 10 million, the same for Gandhi Peace Prize and Jawaharlal Nehru Award for International Understanding. Shakira honoured as Latin Grammy Person of the Year

MUMBAI: International pop star Shakira was honoured as the �2011 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year' on 9 November in Las Vegas. Latin music stars paid tribute to Shakira by performing on her hit tracks like Hips Don't Lie, La Tortura and Estoy at the concert. The 34-year-old singer, who has sold more than 60 million albums in Spanish and English is the youngest person to receive the Latin Recording Academy award.
