Rajiv Takru assumes charge as Additional Secretary I&B

NEW DELHI: Rajiv Takru on Wednesday assumed charge as Additional Secretary in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry. He comes in place of Uday Kumar Verma, an IAS officer from Madhya Pradesh in the 1976 batch, who was moved as the new Secretary in the Ministry Of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises from 1 September. Prior to his appointment, Takru was Director General of National Institute of Fashion Technology under the Ministry of Textiles.

Four Intl bands to perform at Great Indian October fest 2010

BANGALORE: The Great Indian October Fest (TGIOF) is poised to grow larger this year with 75,000 footfalls expected across its three-day course starting 22 October in Bangalore. Last year this annual event attracted 50,000 people. Four International bands from Italy, the UK and Canada will be among the 22 performers which include a medley of local Bangalore bands as well as bands from across India covering genres ranging from Electronica Rock to Classical Rock to Metal to Reggae and Indi Rock as well Bollywood contributions from Shaan, Mohit Chauhan and DJs Aqueel and Chico.

Times Music launches audio of Marathi Film 'Mee Sindhutai Sapkal'
