NEW DELHI: Rajiv Takru on Wednesday assumed charge as Additional Secretary in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry. He comes in place of Uday Kumar Verma, an IAS officer from Madhya Pradesh in the 1976 batch, who was moved as the new Secretary in the Ministry Of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises from 1 September. Prior to his appointment, Takru was Director General of National Institute of Fashion Technology under the Ministry of Textiles.

MUMBAI: Music launch of the film �Mee Sindhutai Sapkal' directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan, produced by Sachin and Bindiya Khanolkar of Siddhivinayak Cinevision. The film is based on the true story of a lady called Sindhutai Sapkal who has dedicated her life to the welfare of thousands of poor orphaned children. This Marathi film has been selected for screenings at the prestigious London Film Festival (London) and the South Asian International Film Festival (New York).
