Big FM elevates Gaurav Sahai to Operations Head - Delhi

MUMBAI: Big FM has promoted Gaurav Sahai as radio operations head for its New Delhi station. Sahai, who was marketing head earlier, will now lead the Programming, Marketing and Technical teams to achieve Station CUME and TSL targets. Sahai will report to Big FM national business head Soumen Choudhury. Among other things, He will lead the planning and execution of ATL and BTL activities including on-air spikes, outdoor campaigns and mall branding. He will be responsible for increasing the market share of Big FM's New Delhi station and its on-air programming.

Radio Mantra picks winner for RJ-Giri

MUMBAI: Radio Mantra's search for a new RJ for Jalandhar culminated on 19 September as the station selected Arun Singh in a grand finale of RJ-giri, a hunt for a new RJ. Arun was adjudged the winner from amongst the four finalists. Based on SMS responses received from the audience and the judges votes, Arun won by a very close margin. Bollywood actor Jimmy Shergill was the celebrity judge at the grand event. He will now have the opportunity to hone his skills under a team of experts from Mantra and co host shows with the Radio Mantra jocks.

Leo Burnett sole Radio winner from India at Spikes Asia 2010

Mumbai: Leo Burnett's spot for Bajaj Electricals has bagged a bronze -- India's sole medal in the Radio category -- at the Spikes Asia 2010 awards in Singapore. Only three entries from a total of 11 from India in the Radio category had made the shortlist -- the other two being Orchard Advertising's �Mandatory Voice Over' for PHL Pharma's Supractiv Complete, and JWT India's �Three Installments' for Levi's India. Incidentally, the same entry from Leo Burnett had also bagged a silver Radio Lion at Cannes earlier this year.

Film on RD Burman bags National Award

MUMBAI: He is often hailed as one of the greatest musicians of Indian Cinema with several awards tucked under his belt, but it is the National Award that has always eluded RD Burman. But 16 years after his demise, a film made on Burman who was popularily known as Pancham Da, has won a National Award. Brahmanand S Siingh, has bagged the honour for 'Pancham Unmixed, a  two hour film that pays tribute to the legend.
