BBC to continue 1-hr Hindi evening news for Indian audiences

* To be extended beyond March 2012  only if â€?sustainable commercial funding' can be found MUMBAI: The BBC World Service, which, to general dismay had announced on 26th January 2010 it would close its news and current affairs radio output in Hindi by March 31st this year, has decided to retain, for its Indian audiences,  a 1-hour news and current affairs broadcast in Hindi which, subject to sustainable commercial funding being available, would be extended beyond March 2012.

Shorey, Pathak lend their voice to Rio

MUMBAI: Vinay Pathak and Ranvir Shorey have lent their voices in the upcoming 3D animation film Rio. Directed by Carlos Saldanha, who had earlier directed Ice Age, the Hollywood film is set in the city of Rio de Janeiro and the lush rainforests of Brazil. It revolves around Blu, a rare macaw, who thinks he is the last of his kind. But upon discovering a female bird of his kind, Blu leaves the comfort of his cage in small town Minnesota and heads to Rio.
