Big FM launches 'Red Ribbon Campaign' across 45 stations

MUMBAI: Big FM will embark a national �Red Ribbon Campaign' on World Aids Day across its 45 station network. On 1 Dec, the radio jockey's will host a radio marathon that will last for 9.27 hours non-stop and discuss facts, mis-conceptions, importance of prevention, expert advice from specialist with listeners. Supported by Smita Thackeray's Mukti Foundation, the initiative is a noble cause by the radio station to spread awareness about the virus and create an AIDS-proof India.

Shazam re-acquires audio recognition patents from BMI

MUMBAI: Shazam the mobile discovery company has reacquired the audio recognition technology and the related patents that it sold to Broadcast Music Inc in 2005. Shazam originally sold its intellectual property rights to BMI to fund the technology's development. The new agreement will allow Shazam to expand its services and also reinstate its intellectual property ownership.

Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra on a three-city India tour

MUMBAI: Celebrating 60th year of diplomatic ties between India and Germany, the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra has announced a three city tour in India. The concert will be held in Mumbai on 1 and 2 December at NCPA followed by Bangalore on 3 December and Chennai on 4 December. The tour will also witness the performances of Symphony Orchestra of India along with Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra. The tour is part of the ongoing program series �Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities' which was initiated in September 2011.

Unseen footage of MJ's Dangerous remains unsold

MUMBAI: Unseen footage of Michael Jackson's 1993 Dangerous tour that was expected to fetch 4-5 million pounds failed to sell at an auction last Saturday in Britain. Around two hours long, the footage was shot by Jackson's own production crew and meant to be an intimate portrait of Jackson on tour. But the singer was unhappy with the quality and gave the only copy to his driver who was now trying to sell the footage, auction house The Fame Bureau said.
