Oye! 104.8 FM launches new TVC

MUMBAI: Oye! 104.8 FM has released a new television commercial in collaboration with renowned Bollywood director Pradeep Sarkar. The commercial is based on Oye FM's feature 'Khas Peshkash', where hit Bollywood songs are reinterpreted in a Ghazal format. The spots are based on Khas Peshkash versions of hit songs like �Sheila K Jawani' �Bhaag D K Bose,' and �Munni Badnaam Hui' each exploring a familiar Indian setting in which Bollywood music adds life to mundane situations. The commercial is also available on OYE! 104.8 FM's youtube channel.

Unisys distributes Punjabi album 'Hifazzat'; partners Star Records

MUMBAI: Unisys Infosolutions, digital VAS content provider and enterprise messaging solutions, has acquired digital distribution rights for singer Eknoor Sidhu's latest Punjabi music album �Hifazzat'. The company has partnered with music label Star Records to distribute the album on entertainment portals, mobile devices and radio channels. The album consists of eight songs crooned by Sidhu and scripted by award-winning lyricist Jelly Manjitpuri and Veet Baljit. The music has been directed by duo Anu-Manu and produced by Amit Uchana and Bobby Mallhi.

Big FM back with Cyclogreen campaign across 36 cities

MUMBAI: Big FM has initiated second leg of its eco-friendly campaign Avon Cyclogreen across 36 cities in India. The campaign engages the citizens to take a pledge to cycle to work at least once in a week. Starting from 24 November in Chandigarh, the campaign will travel across 36 cities of India and will end with a grand culmination on 20 December in Kolkata. Each city will see one lucky winner emerge, who will win a bicycle, duly autographed by the jock.

Taylor Swift bags three American Music Award 2011

MUMBAI: Taylor Swift, Adele and Nicki Minaj were the big winners at the 2011 American Music Awards held on 20 November in Los Angeles. Taylor Swift won three of the biggest awards including Artist of the Year, Favorite Country Music Album for �Speak Now' and Favorite Country Female Artist. Rapper Nicki Minaj and Adele bagged two awards; Minaj won titles for Favorite rap/hip hop artist and Favorite hip hop album, while Adele received the honour of Favorite pop/rock album and Favorite pop/rock female artist.

VH1 to air 'iHeartRadio Music Festival' on 23-24 Nov

MUMBAI: VH1 will premi?¨re two day â€?iHeartRadio Music Festival' on 23-24 November, showcasing HD performances of Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Kenny Chesney, The Black Eyed Peas, Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, Carrie Underwood, Jane's Addiction, Nicki Minaj and collaborative act of Sting and Jeff Beck. The fest will also be aired on Palladia TV Network in December.

Prasar Bharati starts process to recognise staff bodies

NEW DELHI: Prasar Bharati has asked all departments of All India Radio and Doordarshan to start the process of recognition of the various associations and unions under the conditions laid down in the eight-year old Recognition of Service Associations office memorandum of 5 November 1993. The heads of the departments have been asked to bring the memorandum to the notice of the employees and file an action taken report. Report also has to be filed about fulfillment of the conditions or otherwise of the existing conditions by 30 November.

YouTube inks deal with IPRS; songwriters, composers and publishers to earn revenue

MUMBAI: The Indian Performing Right Society (IPRS) and YouTube have announced a licensing agreement that will allow songwriters, music composers and music publishers to earn revenue from YouTube. This is YouTube's first collection society deal in India.  The Video-streaming site generates revenue only when advertisements are displayed against YouTube partner's videos. In this case it would mean that Indian music publishers, composers and authors that are members of IPRS will derive their share of revenue from the society for their works accessed on YouTube.

MUMBAI: A watchdog of the Indian Music Industry (IMI) has launched a campaign against hotels, discos and beach shacks that play music without getting the mandatory public performance licence in Goa. Phonographic Performance Ltd (PPL), the licensing arm of the Indian Music Industry (IMI), announced the launching of its campaign 'Halla Bol', states PTI.
