Singing for animated movies is a challenge: Thomson Andrews

MUMBAI: Thomson Andrews, a multilingual singer, song writer, host, actor has recently sung on the background score for Mardaani 2, directed by Yash raj films, background music that is composed by John Stewart.

Thomson being a versatile singer has not only lent his voice for Bollywood but also has his share of space in animated movies. His work in Frozen 2, Lion King 2 in Hindi, Aladdin and Toy Story 4 for Disney have proven to be remarkable examples.

When asked about the type of work he likes be it Bollywood or for animated movies Thomson replied, “As a singer I do not compartmentalize my work, I sing for bollywood, advertisements, regional films, animated movies and also host reality shows all with the same eagerness.”

“Singing for animated movies is a challenge though because I need to use my voice in a very different manner and change accordingly what suits the texture of the animated character, and it’s not that Bollywood happens to be easy either, there are very few who can juggle both these genres and I find myself very blessed that I can juggle both and explore without limiting myself,” added Thomson.

Currently Thomson is working with Mithoon Sharma a music director, singer, composer. Soon he would be touring with Sunidhi Chauhan in ten cities for the No1 Yaari tour.

In future Thomson desires to collaborate with Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa and Nucleya.

Stay tuned for his upcoming songs.
