India is a land of varied religions, cultures, belief systems, languages, traditions and innumerable forms of art. The one binding force that has always unified the diversity in Indians is their devotional spirit.

The objective of ‘Bolava Vittha’l is to showcase and recreate the magic of Abhangwani, the musical legacy of Maharashtra and Karnataka, through a nationwide concert tour of 14 cities.

‘Ashadi Ekadashi’ is considered as one of the most auspicious days, thousands of devotees of Lord Vitthal is known as Warkaris walk in groups from their respective homes, singing the devotional songs/abhangs in praise and reach Pandharpur town on the propitious day of Ashadi Ekadashi to offer their prayers to Lord Vitthal.

There are several paths elucidated to attain the Divine. However, in the present time, it is the path of devotion that reigns supreme. The Abhangas sung in praise of Lord Vitthal are compositions steeped in divine love, sung in simple verses, guiding the seeker in his inward journey towards the source.

These Abhang’s dedicated to Lord Vitthal, were penned in the form of prose, verses, and poetry by great Bhakti poets saints Sant Dyaneshwar, Sant Tukaram, Sant Gora Kumbhar, Sant Namdeo and Sant Janabai, Saint Purandara Dasa and Saint Jagannatha Dasa (Karnataka State) during the period from the 12 to the 19 century, which is seen as India's renaissance.

The Indian devotional music is broadly divided into two parts Sagun (With Form) and Nirgun (Formless and Abstract) and abhang is a fine blend of both. Bolava Vitthal is an effort to bring the youth of India closer to our rich cultural heritage and Indian philosophy of life interpreted lucidly by many saint poets like Namdeo, Tukaram, Dyaneshwar, and Bahinabai.”
