The Stage likely to return with second season on Colors Infinity by September

MUMBAI: 'The Stage', India's first-ever novel English singing talent hunt show premiered on 10 October 2015 and was broadcast on Colors Infinity on Saturday and Sunday nights. The show is now geared to come up with its second season if the channel's social media statements are to be believed.

The series is produced by Mumbai-headquartered production house SOL. Season one was presented by Shibani Dandekar while Vishal Dadlani, Monica Dogra, Ehsaan Noorani, and Devraj Sanyal were the members of the jury panel. The concept of ‘The Stage’ was an innovative one on Indian television. There are several English music artists in this nation but had not had the opportunity to showcase and pitch their talent against each other on TV. ‘The Stage’ is a great platform for aspiring English singers in India.

We confirmed the news with Devraj Sanyal, Managing Director and CEO of Universal Music Group & EMI Music, South Asia, who shared the news first on social media. “It is too early to share the details right now. But, it is confirmed that The Stage season two is taking place. I might or might not be there as a jury member, let it be a surprise,” he signed off.

Commenting on this, SOL's co founder Fazila Allana said, “We will be auditioning in different cities in India. There will be a little modification in the format of the show but the jury will be the same.  The show will be on air mostly around September this year.”

Colors Infinity official spokesperson, however, refused to confirm the development.
