Universal snaps up Aditya Narayan for debut album

MUMBAI: Universal Music  has signed television personality Aditya Narayan as its exclusive artiste to launch his debut album early next year. Aditya, who has also signed up for lead roles in some feature films, is a trained singer since childhood. Son of veteran singer Udit Narayan, Aditya is believed to be also composing for his upcoming album. As anchor of the reality show, SaReGaMaPa on Zee, Aditya currently enjoys the distinction of being one of the youngest anchors on Indian television.

Sirius XM announces first interoperable satellite radio

MUMBAI: Last week was a week of big announcements in consumer electronics and the big news in satellite radio was Sirius XM's announcement of the cutely name "MiRGE", a new interoperable dock & play satellite radio which can tune into any Sirius or XM channel. To take advantage of the new radio, which should arrive in April, the company announced the "SIRIUS Everything plus XM Everything" subscriptions satellite radio package which will be available at a monthly cost of U.S. $19.99.

Motown Records turns 50, Universal plans release of old classics

MUMBAI: Motown Records, also called Tamla Motown outside North America, is a record label which had been firstly based in Detroit, Michigan. Berry Gordy, its founder, released Tamla Records as a label on January 12, 1959. One year later, the company was incorporated as Motown Record Corporation. It completed a half century of existence on Monday.
