Iron Maiden to headline Bangalore's Rock In India fest

MUMBAI: The Rock In India festival is back this year with more gusto, promising eight hours of non stop live performances. This year,  the festival will see artists like De-Profundis, Cyanide Serenity and Brandon Ashley & The Silver Bugs at the Palace Grounds in Bangalore on 15 February 2008

Last year, heavy metal bands Megadeth and Machinehead performed at the festival, organised by DNA Networks. Iron Maiden (who are on the last leg of their Somewhere Back in Time tour) would be headlining this rock festival and will be supported by 10 other bands. Two stages are being put up at the venue to ensure a non stop music bonanza, it is learnt. Lauren Harris, the British vocalist who supported Iron Maiden on their 2007 tour of India would also be performing. Being an all day event, revelers can wee their time at the snack bar, bungee jumping unit or the tattoo stalls.

Started in Bangalore 2008, The Rock In India festival promises major international acts as headliners with Indian bands playing as opening acts. The Indian line-up for 2009 includes veterans in the Indian scene Parikrama, Bangalore based alternative band Synaps, Mumbai Metal-heads Pin Drop Violence, Melodic Metal band Kryptos,  Vonamor Band and winners of the Campus Rock Idols.

The tickets for the event are now on sale and are going for Rs 1,600 each.
