Aerosmith to headline Calling Festival 2014

MUMBAI: American Hard rock band Aerosmith will be headlining the new 'Calling Festival', to be held in Clapham Common on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 June this year. Other names confirmed are Brit rockers Thunder, Seattle hard rockers Walking Papers and guitar mastermind Joe Bonamassa.

The two day festival will feature multiple stages with 20 acts in rock and pop performing each day. On site facilities will include an array of food stalls, funfair and much more.

Joe Perry told, "Speaking for myself I have been so involved writing my autobiography I did not realise how long it had been since we have played across the big pond. It's been far too long since we have performed in the UK."

He further said, "We cannot wait to bring back some of the classics as well as some of the new songs from music from another dimension. We miss our UK fans." After four years, the band will be returning to UK to give a treat to fans and play some rocking sets.

Live Nation Promotions VP Toby Leighton-Pope said, "This year is one of the most exciting on record for the Calling Festival. We are looking forward to bringing the new look event to Clapham Common, one of London's premiere outdoor locations."The tickets will go on sale at 9 am on 7 March 2014.

Till last year, it was called the Hard Rock Calling Festival, after the sponsorship deal ended the organisers decided to find different name and sponsorship deal. Previous, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Paul Simon, Pearl Jam, Paul McCartney, The Who, Rod Stewart and Stevie Wonder were the headliner of the festival.
