I love Indian classical music: DJ BT

GOA: Taking time out from his chaotic schedule, 42 year old music producer, DJ BT was here in India for the five day long Vh1 Supersonic festival, in Goa. Day three of the event seemed to be extremely hectic, considering he came to the venue, only 10 minutes before the gig.

Radioandmusic.com caught up with the producer/ DJ in his green room for a little insight to his trip. "Travelling to India was complete madness. I left Bangkok in the morning, the flight got delayed and I came in so late," said the DJ. Despite the goof up he revealed that he had an amazing time performing at event.

BT has worked with some big international names including Paul van Dyk, Peter Gabriel, 'N Sync, Sting and Blake Lewis. He has also collaborated with Indian musician Shankar Mahdevan and is an ardent fan of Indian classical music and of Indian food as well. "I love all the traditional Indian ragas. They are so soothing and I have been listening to them since my childhood. This is one thing that I really love; the country has an amazing musical history unlike the one in US or may be even in any other country."

Talking about the EDM culture in India he said that the Indian culture is extremely incredible. "The crowds have embraced this genre so well, despite having such an amazing musical history. It is always good to be in a country where people respond to your music and enjoy what you play."

He added that he would also like to merge with many Indian artistes.
