'NAMASTE' is about recognizing and accepting another soul: Motherjane

MUMBAI: Motherjane the ethnic progressive rock band made quite a buzz with their album, Insane Biography which is regarded as one of the most influential records in Indian rock. Also their next album Maktub made its presence felt and they are set to take this story to another level with their latest single NAMASTE.

“NAMASTE is essentially a love song for all humanity. It speaks about recognizing and accepting another soul. We are all one, even though we are manifested differently. We are connected, not only to one another but also to everything in the universe. If we are aware of this, we can lose our individuality and rise together unleashing limitless access to an infinite power that dwells within us,” explained the band.

The band’s drummer (John Thomas) shares, “We do come with instant ideas for our tracks and work on it immediately. So, there is less thought process in it and people connect to it easily. In fact the basic tune and the scratch of Namaste were done in two days, and then we took the song ahead and recorded it. While the vocalist of this track quite motivated us.”

The song NAMASTE, produced and mixed by Rex Vijayan, has been getting an immense amount of love which it truly deserves; John adds to this, “People are appreciating this NAMASTE for when they heard this track they could connect to it. That was a big win for us. ”

The band reveals its future plans, “We are working on four to five tracks and would have some frequent releases too.”
