9XM re-creates Rahman's Vande Mataram in Acapella style

MUMBAI: Commemorating 65th year of India’s independence, music channel 9XM has taken an innovative route. The channel is celebrating the day with a special version of Vande Mataram which is sung in the Acapella style by a US based band called Penn Masala. Comprising of students from the University of Pennsylvania, the band has recreated AR Rahman’s version of the track without the use of any musical instruments. As per the Acapella style, the band has used their vocals to emulate the sounds of the various instruments.

RDB and Nindy Kaur to perform in Pakistan

MUMBAI: Moving forward from the recently hit tragedy, UK Bhangra group RDB  is all set to take a fresh start with a comeback tour in Pakistan. The tour entitled 'The Kings are back tour' will commence from 21 August to 30 September. For the first time, the band will also be accompanied by UK’s leading Urban-Bhangra artist Nindy Kaur. The tour will include four cities shows in Lahore, Multan, Karachi and Islamabad. The first show in Pakistan is slated to be held on 13 September in Lahore followed by Multan on 15 September. The dates for others cities are yet to be finalized.

Lady Gaga ropes in Lindsay Lohan for 'Artpop'

MUMBAI: Popstar Lady Gaga has now roped in her best friend actor Lindsay Lohan for her recently titled album ‘Artpop’. Lohan will feature in the music video of a single from the album, but the details of the track are yet to be disclosed.
