MUMBAI: Pop star Miley Cyrus is releasing a MAC lipstick, which will raise money for HIV sufferers.
The ‘We Can't Stop' singer has teamed up with the cosmetic company to bring out her own branded Viva Glam lipstick in early 2015 and the proceeds will go to the MAC AIDS Fund charity, reports contactmusic.com.
She announced the collaboration on her Twitter page. "Going #VIVAGLAM with @MACcosmetics. Look for my lipstick in early 2015 ... Every $ from the sales of my #VIVAGLAM will go to @MACAIDSFund to help those affected by HIV! (sic)," she posted.
Cyrus is commonly recognized as a pop artist. Common Sense Media described the songs from the same album as being "upbeat" and "girl-power" oriented, citing the lyrics to ‘I Got Nerve' as a prime example. When speaking about ‘Bangerz' (2013), Cyrus stated she felt the album had a "dirty south" feel. Miguel and Frank Ocean were named as musical influences for ‘Bangerz'.
At the 2014 MTV Video Music Award, Jimmy Fallon announced that Cyrus was the winner of the Video of the Year award for her song "Wrecking Ball". Instead of accepting the award herself, she sent on stage a man by the name of Jesse, a homeless 22-years-old that Cyrus met at My Friend's Place, an organization that helps homeless youth find shelter. His acceptance speech encouraged musicians to learn more about homeless youth in Los Angeles and what they can do to help at Cyrus's Facebook page.
