Rare glimpse inside Met Gala: Ariana Grande's spectacular performance revealed

MUMBAI: Surprise! Ariana Grande performed at the Met Gala Monday night, gracing the fashionable crowd with a collection of her own hits, including a rendition of Sleeping Beauty’s “Once Upon a Dream,” and a duet of The Prince of Egypt’s “When You Believe” with her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo.

Thanks to Anna Wintour's famously strict rules about photographs inside the event, the public usually doesn't get to see much of what goes on at the Met Gala beyond the occasional bathroom selfie. However, this year, an unexpected amount of footage has emerged from inside the museum, centering around a performance by Ariana Grande.

Based on Vogue's photos and several videos Grande posted on her TikTok account, it seems that recordings were momentarily allowed while the pop star was carried in by some sprites and placed in front of the Temple of Dendur to sing a medley. She kicked off with "Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty, followed by a few of her own songs, including "Into You," "Seven Rings," "Yes, And?," and "We Can't Be Friends." Grande also brought her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo onstage to close it out with a duet of "When You Believe."
