Groove Cruise & LP Giobbi's Femme House partner for undiscovered Dj contest

MUMBAI : Whet Travel’s flagship event Groove Cruise will celebrate 20 years on the open sea in 2024, adventuring from Miami to Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas from Wednesday, January 24 - Sunday, January 28, 2024. To commemorate the anniversary, Groove Cruise Miami 2024 will be hosted on the award-winning Norwegian Encore - the largest and most luxurious Groove Cruise ship to date.

To celebrate this milestone, Whet Foundation 501(c)(3) and LP Giobbi’s Femme House 501(c)(3) have partnered for Groove Cruise Miami 2024 to present the festival’s annual Undiscovered DJ Contest. This first-ever partnership is looking for passionate DJs, who are ready to showcase their talent with a chance to win an opening slot on the Femme House stage, oceanview stateroom accommodations for two, up to $600 in travel expenses, an episode on Femme House radio show and Groove Cruise radio, and an artist promotional package with EDM.com including an email newsletter and Instagram takeover. The total prize package includes is worth over $4000 and the experience of a lifetime on the 20th anniversary of Groove Cruise.

To enter the contest, up-and-coming DJs can submit a 30-minute audio/video mix and a short biography by September 24, 2023, through the DJ contest submission form. Contestants must be 21+ to enter and individuals from all countries are welcome.

While anyone can enter the DJ contest, Femme House highlights allyship as a necessary foundation to foster more equitable opportunities for women, gender-expansive, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ individuals in the music industry. They encourage all allies and members of these to be mindful of their privileges and to be intentional when entering the contest.

LP Giobbi launched Femme House in 2019 to create opportunities for marginalized communities in the music industry. Femme House strives to develop the future of producers, mixers, engineers, DJs, artists, and executives in the industry by providing education and scholarships, cultivating community, furthering visual representation, and amplifying the voices of women, gender-expansive, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Since its inception, Femme House has offered free workshops in music production and DJing, specialized online coursework on studio techniques, a weekly radio show on SiriusXM, a bi-yearly scholarship program for BIPOC and LGTBQIA+ creators, and more.

LP Giobbi will host the first-ever Femme House stage on Groove Cruise Miami 2024, showcasing her signature sound and the ethos of Femme House. The winner will perform the opening slot of the takeover aboard the Norwegian Encore.

In addition to the Femme House stage takeover, Groove Cruise has enlisted world-renowned dance music superstars Tiësto, Diplo, and John Summit to headline the 20th anniversary celebration.

Groove Cruise will also welcome an impressive medley of genre-crossing acts to make their festival debuts including Biscits, Brennen Grey, Craig Connelly, Lilly Palmer, Deeper Purpose, Joshwa, San Pacho, Pig&Dan, VNSSA as well as Mija and GG Magree as So Tuff So Cute.

The festival will also welcome back some fan-favorite veteran acts to celebrate the 20th anniversary including longtime Groove Cruise veterans Gene Farris and Markus Schulz. Other returning acts include Aly & Fila, Amidy, Anthony Attalla, Boris, DEEPFAKE, Factor B, Gabriel & Dresden, Gem & Tauri, MiTiS, Trivecta, Haliene, and Blastoyz.
