Channel [V] sets Rs 10 mn as prize money for new reality show

MUMBAI: Channel [V] is set to launch its new reality show, Idea [V] The Player, from 12 December. To be aired every Saturday at 7 pm, the show will have 10 dangerously motivated players hoarded up in a house. The task is to convince each other of why each one of them should get the prize money as against the other and arrive at a unanimous winner. Created by Rajiv Laxman, who is playing as host, the show will carry a cash prize of Rs 10 million.

MUMBAI: Meow FM said on Thursday it has appointed Vehrnon Ibrahim as its national programming head. The former Radio One VP programming will take up his new assignment on 4 January. Indiantelevision.com had earlier reported that Vehrnon Ibrahim is serving his notice period at Radio One and would be joining Meow FM as programming head.Ibrahim will report to India Today Group CEO Ashish Bagga. MUMBAI: The Indian Music Academy has unveiled 18 finalists from the national level talent hunt that it conducted over a period of three months. The talents revealed at the IMA press conference on Wednesday in Mumbai are an interesting mix that pans from a 11-year-old Sufi singer to a 32-year-old Thumri exponent. My FM parent DB Corp IPO launches Friday

MUMBAI: FM radio network My FM parent DB Corp, owner of India's second-most read newspaper, plans to raise as much as 3.85 billion rupees ($82 million) in an initial public offering starting 11 December. The Bhopal headquartered company will sell 18.2 million shares at 185 rupees to 212 rupees apiece. The offer, which ends on Dec. 15, consists of 12.7 million new shares and 5.45 million shares offered by Cliffrose Investment Ltd., an investor.

MUMBAI: Music major T-Series has entered into a strategic alliance with Reliance Entertainment's Big Music to handle distribution for the latter's catalogue. Industry sources mention that the labels have entered into a minimum guarantee agreement, with T-Series acquiring the content and exploiting it till recovery and later the labels would share profits.
