MUMBAI: RJ Pritam, affectionately known better as Pritam Pyare, received Bharat Icon Award as the Best RJ yesterday 28 November in Mumbai.
RJ Pritam is now associated with Red FM’s new radio channel REDTRO, which re-defines retro music in an unconventional way.
Pritam told Radioandmusic.com, “I’m a part of this television industry because of radio, and I have got ample awards in television before, but never for radio. Radio se hi TV mein aya aur radio ne mujhe koi award hi nehi diya.”
“I have been nominated before, but never got the chance to be the winner. I am delighted as this is the first time I got Bharat Icon Award as the Best RJ in the radio industry,” he added.

The Bharat Icon Awards were given away on 28 November 2016, in Lokhanddwada Garden, Mumbai. In addition, RJ Pritam recently hosted a show on Zee TV on its silver jubilee on 27 November 2016.
