Go on 'The Rise' of Indies' Lives

MUMBAI: As a part of its 'Step Up. Discover' campaign, MTV's new channel Pepsi MTV Indies launches a new show called 'The Ride', premiering tonight, 19 July at 6pm.

'The Ride' is a quirky 13-part chat-show that will be hosted by Indie personality Rishu Singh. Every week he will invite Indie celebrities from various fields, varying from music artistes to Bollywood personalities to Stand up comedians and discuss their personal interests, passions and their take on today's music. 'The Ride' aims to promote home-grown celebrities from within their respective fields – someone who has started from scratch to make a mark and has established a celebrity-status.

Speaking to Radioandmusic.com, Rishu Singh, who is also founder of Ennuit.bomb said, "Three months ago, when I was first pitched 'The Ride', what attracted me most to this property was exploring an opportunity to interact with the self made indie artistes. Their struggles and victorious moments can inspire the youth to take the road less travelled.”

The first episode has Rishu interviewing Kalki Koechlin on her life before movies, her stint with theatre and her equation with Anurag Kashyap. In addition to Kalki Koechlin, Randolph Correia of 'Shaa'ir and Func' and MTV Music Awards India winner Kailash Kher have also been interviewed.

Rishu Singh is a musician, a manager and a music connoisseur. Being one of the pioneers of the independent music scene in India, Rishu has been chosen to promote outstanding artistes from across the Indie subculture on The Ride. Singh is also the founder of Ennuit.bomb, a company which offers multiple services - from music consultation, brand activation, event management and band management.

Being a serial entrepreneur in the music industry, Singh also initiated ventures like 'Stupiditties' – an annual compilation of alternative and punk music from around the country; and 'We ARE the Scene' - a series of mixtapes of younger Indian acts released periodically by Ennuit.bomb. The Ride is Rishu Singh's first stint as a host on television.
