Bruce Ogilvie joins NARM board
MUMBAI: NARM, the music business association, is pleased to welcome Super D/Alliance Entertainment's CEO Bruce Ogilvie to the Board Of Directors. Ogilvie takes the seat occupied by Alliance Entertainment's Mike Davis prior to Super D's recent acquisition of the company.
"With the recent acquisition of Alliance Entertainment by Super D, we are happy to have the continued strong support and active involvement of the music wholesale community in our Association" said Jim Donio, President of NARM/digitalmusic.org. "Bruce is a longtime member of the organization and his extensive background as a music business professional and his knowledge of the workings of the industry make him a great addition to our governing Board."
Ogilvie started is music industry career in 1978 by selling LPs, 8- Tracks, and cassettes at the Orange Drive in Swap Meet. He founded Abbey Road Distributors in 1980 and Music Software in 1987. He sold Abbey Road to Alliance in 1994, becoming the company's CTO. In 2011, Ogilvie joined Super D as CEO, seeing the company through the purchases of Phantom Sound, MSI, Infinity Resources, and most recently, Alliance Entertainment, making the company the second largest music wholesaler in the country and the fourth largest music account overall.
