AMARC welcomes approval of CR licenses in Bangladesh

MUMBAI: Asia Pacific Region of the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters, AMARC-Asia Pacific has welcomed the recent decision of the Government of Bangladesh to approve 12 community radio licenses. This is the first time in the history of Bangladesh that community radio licenses have been approved. The approval follows the community radio policy introduced in Bangladesh in March 2008.

Sweeping glory: The Frank Gambale Trio

MUMBAI: The Mumbai audience is surely lucky to have Australian guitarist Frank Gamable come down for the third time - and this time along with bassist Stu Hamm, and drummer Joel Taylor - it just turned out the way it was expected to be - a phenomenal show of music, and virtuosity. With years of performing experience behind these musicians, there was a lot to take home.   The great thing about the gig was that it had a very accommodative set list - from melodic tracks, blues, to out and out trademark Gambale shredding.

Radio Indigo and HRC to send Bangaloreans to London

BANGALORE: Radio Indigo Bangalore partnered Hard Rock Caf?© to send two Bangalorean's to London to attend the legendary Hyde Park Rock Concert. The concert, scheduled on June 25 to 27, 2010, will have artists Pearl Jam, Ben Harper and the Relentless 7, Wolfmother, Gaslight Anthem, Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney perform. Contests were aired on Radio Indigo for two months during which ten candidates were shortlisted. The shortlisted candidates were invited for a final round of contest called â€?5 Guitars –one amp' on the April 29, at the Hard Rock Caf?©.
