Aditi Rao Hydari makes international debut with 'Ice Age: Continental Drift'

ArtistAloud back with 'TGIRF' season 2

MUMBAI: ArtistAloud is all set to launch the second season of TGIRF (Thank God its Rock On Friday) from 13 July. Unlike the first season, this year TGIRF will run for 20 episodes, showcasing musical journey of two rock bands every week. Ultra Music signs Raghav

MUMBAI: US-based music company Ultra Music has signed Canadian artiste Raghav to their label. As part of the association, the label will release the singer’s latest single ‘Fire’ across the US and UK. The track penned by Raghav and produced by Jim Beanz of Timbaland Productions, has already been certified gold status in Canada. Timbaland Productions and producer Labrinth have also collaborated for the artiste’s upcoming album ‘The Phoenix’.

Digital album sales rise by 14 per cent: report

MUMBAI: The sales of digital music albums have significantly increased by 14 per cent in the first half of 2012 in the US, compared to the same time period last year according to a report by Nielsen SoundScan. The sales of digital tracks have risen by six per cent even as the overall music sales in the first six months of 2012 grew by four per cent over the same time period last year. Overall album sales dipped by about 0.6 per cent and the sales of physical CDs also continue to drop.

Doordarshan to independently handle Coke Studio marketing

NEW DELHI: Even as Coca Cola will pay for its branding in Coke Studio which will commence telecast on Doordarshan tomorrow, the marketing will be handled by the public broadcaster. The eight episodes of the second season of Coke Studio will be telecast from 8.30 pm every Saturday from tomorrow, while MTV will telecast the same episodes from 7 to 8 pm the same evening. Doordarshan director-general Tripurari Sharan said at a press meet here that there was no arrangement of any sharing of revenues from the marketing of the series.
