My music is an organic type of music: Pragya Dasgupta

MUMBAI: Pragya Dasgupta is an upcoming singer who is all set to rock the industry with her melodious voice. Dasgupta, who was an RJ has recently, rocked it with her Bengali version of the song Radha from the film Jab Harry Met Sejal.

On talking about how she managed to become an RJ at such a young age, Dasgupta revealed, "I hail from a family, where I had a mother with great musical knowledge; I had gone for an audition and after listening to my voice, I got selected." Pragya has also been a radio jockey with some of the most famous radio stations and had also received the Best RJ of the Year award in 2008.

Before making it to full time singing, and after coming to Mumbai she worked in  INX Media and Zoom TV as a music manager. She was also a channel voice for 9XM.

Talking about her song Pyar Kiya Nahi Jaata, which is a well received song, she said, "I got a call from Times Music for a song, so I went and I sang; the same song was sung by few more singers but after they heard my voice, they liked it and they selected me."

Pragya is the sister of Kaara Fankaara voice Paroma Dasgupta and will soon come up with a song in collaboration with her. She also plans to tie up with an international artist with whom she will be doing a project that will have a mixture of Indian and Western music.

"I am happy that my music is appreciated, and I love the fact that my music is organic type of music," said the Pyar Kiya Nahi Jaata hai singer.

Pragya has also done background singing for movies like Hasse Toh Phasee, R... Rajkumar, Action Jackson and many more.
