'The Breakup Song' singer Jonita Gandhi is not great at handling breakups

MUMBAI: 'The Breakup Song' from 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' has become the latest party song. Yes, it's a breakup party song. A twist to the usual post-breakup rona dhona and both the audience and its makers are in love with this dance number.

Singer Jonita Gandhi too is completely enjoying the attention that her latest Bollywood track is getting her. "The song has become a hit. it is a fun song that makes you smile and dance. The tune of this song too is very catchy and groovy. I have also started performing it. I am lucky to have been associated with this happy breakup song," exclaimed the 'Chennai Express' singer.

Gandhi is also liking 'The Breakup Song' as it is giving her the opportunity to be at her animated best during her live performances. "Bollywood music is about exaggerating and fun in such songs comes from being animated. It's a treat as a singer and performer to have more scope to perform. Moreover, the song is relatable. When you ask an audience, 'How many of you have been through a breakup?' all hands go up. Everyone relates to that," explained the songstress.

The singer also likes the video concept of the song. She states that a silent disco them has not been explored in Bollywood before and in this particular song it just works. "Everyone is partying with music playing on their headphones and its fun to watch,"stated Gandhi.

Furthermore, though Gandhi is really happy to have sung a happy breakup song she does not handle breakups well in personal life. "I do not dance and celebrate after a breakup. It takes me a while to push through it," confessed the singer.

The 'Sau Tarah Ke' singer, however, feels that every breakup teaches one something about one's self. "Relationships tend to consume you. You do not get time for yourself. Once your out of it, you get the time to focus on yourself and understand yourself better."' singer, however, feels that every breakup teaches one something about one's self. Now that is some deep understanding of breakups (wink).
