'The Stage' tour to kick off on April 6

MUMBAI: India’s first ever homegrown English-singing talent hunt show – The Stage – concluded its first edition with several positive reviews and a few questions. What’s next for these singers? What precautions are taken to ensure these talents, too, do not disappear into the crowd of to-be’s and could-be’s? The winner of the first edition – Yatharth Ratnum and the finalists of the first edition of the Colors Infinity’s maiden season will perform in eight cities for the tour.

The tour includes cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Shillong and Pune.

Yatharth Ratnum, the youngest performer on the show (and the tour), will perform at eight cities with four other ‘The Stage’ contestants. Thanks to the ‘The Stage’, the singer received an opportunity to sing and act – as a lead role – in an upcoming Bollywood movie, expected to release this month. ‘The Stage’ tour will further help the singer’s career as a live performer and a young aspiring musician. Joining Ratnum for the tour will be Bengaluru-based Soundarya Jayachandran whose recognition received a major boost with the video release of her single ‘Unapologetic’. Also part of the tour is yet another contestant to venture into Bollywood – Kamakshi Rai. With lending vocals to ads like Raymond and Bajaj Allianz, Rai has earned enough credibility to her name.

A deal with EMI music for a record has proven the perks of being a finalist for Anushka Shahaney. The young sensation will perform at all the venues for the first ‘The Stage’ tour commencing on April 6. Rupin Pahwa, who was not among the last five contestants, joins the fellow ex-competitors for the tour. Pahwa, since the conclusion of The Stage, has focused on original compositions and live solo performances at various venues across the country.

Following are the venues and dates for The Stage tour -

Chennai - Moon and Six Pence – 6 April
