Fortunate to be endorsed by AR Rahman

MUMBAI: It is true, art or artists need appreciation to get better in career. Grammy and Academy Award winning musician AR Rahman completely understands the importance of the term ‘appreciation’ thus, he does not back out when there is an artist worth an applaud.

Over the years Rahman has endorsed a few artist, we bring you top10 list of artists promoted by the maestro on his social media account.

Harshdeep Kaur: She is the first female to win two singing reality show titles. In the year 2001 she was crowned MTV Video Gaga. She won the singing competition Junoon Kuch Kar Dikhane Ka, which was aired on NDTV Imagine. She played a musical narrator in Color’s TV show, Bani Ishq Ka Kamla (2013-14). She also sung some unforgettable numbers -- Kstiyon Karoon from Rockstar (2012), Heer from Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012), Jungi from Cocktail (2012) and Uff from Bang Bang (2014). She has featured in all four seasons of Coke Studio (India). The new song Dil De Reejh which recently released is given by Tigerstyle and penned by Preet Kanwal.

Javed Ali: He started off in 2000 and got breakthrough after seven years with Ek DinTeri Raho Mein from Naqaab (2007). He does not limit himself when it comes to music. He has done songs in other languages like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Assamese and more. He is a playback singer and is also an avid stage performer.

The song Rangreziya is composed and sung by Javed Ali himself, penned by Raqueeb Alam. Ali and Neetha Shetty have also featured in the song.

Dilshaad Shabbir Shaikh: He is son of well known 80’s and 90’s playback singer Shabbir Kumar. He was associated with AR Rahman in the year 2004, sung backing vocals in films like Kisna, Rang De Basanti and title track of Blue. He has also worked on the title track of Salaam Mumbai (2016) directed by Ghorban Mohammadpur.

Gurdas Maan: He is a notable figure in the world of Punjabi Music. He is a singer, song writer, choreographer and actor.

His Punjabi song on Sagahits official YouTube channel is on Punjab and has received 17 Million views on YouTube.

G.V. Prakash: He is an Indian film score, soundtrack composer, actor and singer, who has mainly worked for Tamil Films. He is also the son of G.Ventakesh and playback singer A.R. Riehana, elder sister of music director AR Rahman.

G.V. Prakash’s Lets Go Party is his new single from the Tamil movie Mupparimanam starring Shanthnu Bhagyaraj and Srushti Dange.

Vipin Lal: He is a trained classical vocalist who is known for singing Tamil and Malayalam melodies. He is also known for his performances like Alli Markaavil Pooram Kaanan, Neeraduvaan Nil Ayil Neeraduvaan. Thakkudam bridge song Navarasam is done by him.

Karthick Naren: Karthick is one of the youngest film makers in the Tamil film industry to have blockbuster under his belt. He dropped out from third year of his mechanical engineering. He featured his first Tamil film Dhuruvangal Pathinaam or D16, a Tamil thriller starring Rahman in the leading role.

Amanda Sodhi: She is a songwriter, singer, filmmaker, journalist, VO artist, PR, social media consultant and food blogger. Behind The Sunglasses is her catchy singles which was aired on Channel V and on Pepsi MTV Indies. This was one song which created buzz around Oscar and Grammy award winner AR Rahman.  

Raja Kumari:  Her actual name is Svetha Rao but professionally she is called Raja Kumari. This Indian American musician is a moxie; she is the epitome of desi spunk. I Believe In You is a blend of east classicism and west pop music together which celebrates Indian cultures.

Qutub-E-Kripa: It is an ensemble of student musicians of AR Rahman’s KM Music Conservatory. They have been co-credited with AR Rahman for background scores of O Kadhal Kanmani, 24, OK Jaanu and Kaatru Veliyidai. Currently they are working for 2017 Shankar’s 2.0 starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, Atlee’s Mersal starring Vijay.

Games
