Singer Javed Ali would like to sing western songs

MUMBAI: For Javed Ali, ‘Variety is the spice of life’. The singer who shot to fame with, ‘Ek Din Teri Raahon Mein’ has sung almost all types of songs. Be it the racy number of ‘Tinku Jiya’, from Yamala Pagla Deewana or something as soothing, ‘Jashn-e-Bahaaran’, his tracks have mesmerised the audiences and have been well received. But according to Ali, there is one thing that is missing in the list that is western song so hopes to show his skills there as well if given opportunity.

Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, Ali said, “I have sung many songs spread across various genres but I have never sung a western song with English and Hindi lyrics. But I hope that I would be doing that as well. Being versatile and exploring various genres is fun.”

The singer will also perform for live gigs along with Bolyywood assignments. “I had performed at Jaipur and Kuwait in past two weeks. And I am also performing in all the ‘Rahmanishq’ along with AR Rahaman.”

Currently, he is working with a line of music composers like AR Rahman, Pritam and Ismail Darbar, for few films that will be out next year. He has recently sung in the film War Chhod Na Yaar and Baat Bann Gayi. On asked about his experience working with new composers, he said, “Working with new composers and especially new talents is a new learning experience. I do most of the projects that come my way.”

But even as the singer is busy singing and touring, he has been brewing an idea of having an album to his name. “I have been thinking about having an album to my name for a while now. But the challenge in that I never thought about it seriously. But if I do an album then I would like to break my romantic image through the album. I would like working with new composer for the album,” concludes Ali.
