Ashwin Padmanabhan appointed Big FM Delhi station director

MUMBAI: Big FM has announced the appointment of Ashwin Padmanabhan as its Delhi Station Director. Ashwin, who has been with the company since its inception, was holding charge as cluster director, Andhra Pradesh so far. His shift to Delhi comes in the wake of Manisha Tripathi's resignation from the post of Delhi station director recently. Prasar Bharati should have more autonomy: Parliamentary committee

NEW DELHI: No recruitment has been made in the Indian Broadcasting (Programme) Service, started in 1990 to train a separate cadre of employees for All India Radio and Doordarshan. A Parliamentary Committee in a strongly-worded report also found that the kind of autonomy which ought to have been there "is not there in Prasar Bharati" and hoped the "Government and Prasar Bharati would move ahead from this point and work in harmony to strengthen the institution."

Yamaha plans music school in Tamil Nadu

MUMBAI: After selling music instruments for overseas partners Yamaha, the Nippon group now plans to expand its music business by starting the Yamaha School of Music in collaboration with Yamaha India Limited in a couple of years. "There is a lot of scope for music education business in India as we don't have many music institutes here," says Nippon Group promoter Chetan Acharya.
