Gareth Emery has collaborated with classic punk rock band for his new album

MUMBAI: At this year's Vh1 Supersonic in Goa, British electronic dance music producer and DJ, Gareth Emery told Radioandmusic.com that he recently collaborated with a punk rock band on a track which will be featured on his upcoming studio album. He said, "Before I got into electronic music, I used to play the guitar in a punk rock band. I recently got to work with one of my favourite bands, a very famous one that I grew up listening to. Being in the studio with them was pretty amazing and I think we have made a pretty fantastic track that represents the best of both of our sounds."

When asked which band he collaborated with, Emery remained tight-lipped about it. "I do not like to give the game away too early. But, when word comes out, you will know that you (Radioandmusic.com) were the first one to have ever been told about it in an interview," Emery said.

The trance DJ also recently collaborated with 'The Voice UK' Season 1 runner-up Bo Bruce on the track 'U'. The trance track was recently named 'Tune of the Year' on Armin van Buuren's radio show/record label A State of Trance (ASOT) and even managed to secure more than a million views on YouTube within the first few weeks of its release.

Speaking on his collaboration with Bruce, Emery said, "She (Bo Bruce) was just amazing, extremely talented. I have always been an admirer of her voice, ever since she was on 'The Voice'. She is an extremely talented songwriter and we decided to write something together. The track is doing so well, and I am amazed to see that it was voted tune of the Year on Armin van Buuren's radio show last week. It was amazing for me to see that people of the trance music community are really behind the track. Bruce and I are definitely going to do more tracks in the future."

Emery also spoke about improvising his set-list according to his audience. "The art of a DJ, according to me, is looking at the crowd and deciding what you want to play next and picking the music off the back of that. I always have a rough direction or a vague idea of what I want to play, but the exact track selection always depends on the crowd. If it is crowd of my fans, they want to hear a lot of Gareth Emery stuff, but sometimes it is more of a commercial crowd, so you want play a few hits. The job of a DJ is to entertain and to play what you want to play. It is never a 100 per cent set in my head. Even if I know what I am going to play, I always end up changing it based on the crowd."

Gareth Emery recently announced via Facebook that he will be soon be a father, therefore he would be a taking a year off touring. However Emery will continue to perform in Los Angeles since he lives there with his family.
