Liberty wrapping up Worldspace purchase

MUMBAI: Liberty Satellite Radio is wrapping up its purchase of satellite radio company Worldspace, reports website Rapidtvnews. Documents filed before a US Bankruptcy Court show that an agreement has been reached. Liberty has, to date, paid a total of US$19.6m to keep Worldspace afloat. In India, Worldspace has been silent since the beginning of 2010. Liberty, that was expected to pick up the India operations of the Indian arm, apparently changed its mind only in December 2009, leaving subscribers and employees alike, in the lurch.

'Jhenda' flies high - Music Check on 70 mm

MUMBAI: Avadhoot Gupte's much controversial presentation, Marathi film Jhenda has hard hitting tracks complementing the flow of the film. Although the movie is based on the strong theme of politics where music is of secondary importance, the score still manages to stand out. Being the director and script writer helps Gupte in penning and composing tracks in the film, with a deeper understanding of the central theme. Although he's best known as a musician, Gupte doesn't overdo the music bit and does justice to the script as well.
