MUMBAI: Legendary singers Hariharan and Roopkumar Rathod are all set to perform tomorrow at BSNL presents The Legends – a concert dedicated to late Padma Vibhushan Smt. Girija Deviji. The event is slated to be held tomorrow at Dublin Square in Mumbai at 6:30pm.
Hariharan is a renowned Indie music artist, who is best known for Colonial Cousins with Leslie Lewis. Roopkumar Rathod is famous for his Bollywood numbers. It will be interesting to see them performing on their celebrated songs on a weekend.
A four city tour, The Legends is an initiative by Artists 440, which is an annual concert series that aims to celebrate life and music of Girija Devi – a celebrated classical singer. Taking her legacy forward, the event aims to celebrate different genres of music and versatile musicians.
The concert series commenced with Bhopal that had performances by Javed Ali, Ustad Rashid Khan, and Sunanda Sharma (disciple of Girija Devi). The second event took place in Varanasi’s Assi Ghat and had mesmerising performances by Roopkumar Rathod, his daughter Revathi and Malini Awasthi (disciple of Girija Devi). While the third event is in Mumbai, the fourth one in the series, will be held in Delhi and will have performances by Roopkumar Rathod and Sunanda Sharma.
Meanwhile, the event, led by Gajendra Sharma, who is known for conceptualising as well as producing properties like Antakshari, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Voice of India etc, will have the fifth concert in Dubai after two months.
So, guys, if you want to soak your soul into the melody of 90’s, head to Dublin Square tomorrow in Mumbai!
